Hi! My name Chelley E. Morris. I am 28 years old and I am originally from Chicago, Illinois. I have lived in many different cities and have noticed that Chicago is my absolute favorite place! I guess you can take the girl away from home, but you can't take home out of the girl!

I became interested in the Sisterfriends Organization while surfing the Internet back in 1999. I couldn't resist logging on everyday to read all of the many emails I had received. The forum was a place of comfort for me as I went through life changing ordeals and needed some form of encouragement. Receiving advice from the women within the forum made me feel as if someone knew what I was dealing with and was there to comfort and support me. Sisterfriends® is an inspiration for me and I truly enjoy interacting with these multi-diverse women! In December of 2002, I became the President of the Central Florida Chapter of Sisterfriends®.

President - Central Florida Chapter

Our primary focus is to go out into our communities and mentor young women of color. As a youth, I found that when I had a role model to emulate, I succeeded in my scholastic career as well as morally and spiritually. As the saying goes, "the youth of today is the future of tomorrow," and we need to start getting back to raising our young girls to be empowering, intelligent, wholesome young women! In addition to mentorship's, our chapter also focuses on other issues relating to women especially Women of Color. We participate in various charities and community events such as Breast Cancer Awareness, The Sisters Empowering Women Organization, and partner with other local organizations' functions.

My goal while serving as President is to make the Central Florida area aware of our powerful presence. I would like our Chapter to become recognized for the extraordinary contribution we provide and our commitment to uplifting our communities.
